The
installation procedures outlined below are general guidelines. All
mechanical work should be performed by a qualified technician. Please
consult a repair manual for your specific vehicle and proper technique
for removal and installation of components
The NEX coil over
suspension kit consists of the following components:
1) Shock/Strut assembly (4 pcs)
2) Spring assembly (4pcs)
3) Lower mount (4 pcs)
4) Upper mount (4 pcs depending on application)
5) Spring perch (4 pcs)
6) Spring perch jam nut (4 pcs)
7) Lower mount jam nut (4 pcs)
8) Brake line holder (4 pcs)
9) Gland wrench (2 pcs)
The parts listed
are the major components of the kit. Your application may have additional
parts not listed.
The
following instructions must be followed in order for you to maximize
the performance of the NEX coil over.
Setting Spring
Preload
1) Most applications will have the spring preload set from the factory
but if you need to adjust the spring preload please follow these instructions.
Prior to installing the coil over on the vehicle the spring preload
must be set. Preassemble the coil over with the upper mount and spring
installed. Adjust the lower spring perch so that it just makes contact
with the spring. Next, compress the spring by 5mm and tighten the
spring perch lock ring. Additional spring preload adjustment is not
necessary.
Setting Ride Height
2) Preset the overall coil over length and install in vehicle. Once
all four coil overs are installed you can set ride height. Ride height
adjustment is performed by rotating the bottom shock/strut mount.
Once the ride height is adjusted secure the bottom mount with jam
nut.
Brake line and ABS sensor wire
3) Use the provided brake line adapters to secure the brake line.
If your vehicle is equipped with ABS, secure the ABS sensor wire independently
of the brake line.
WARNING:
DO NOT ADJUST RIDE HEIGHT BY ADJUSTING LOWER SPRING PERCH. DOING SO
WILL VOID ALL WARRANTIES FOR NEX SUSPENSION KIT.
